I have older (original 2000 era I think!) Perlicks, and one had a little leak near the collar. I googled it, and the first post that came up was from Homebrewtalk.com fro 2011. Sure enough, even though the link to the parts list was long outdated, one of the posters had a photo of the parts list, and I was able to take it apart and put back together and all looked great.

Then one guy mentioned that overtightening the bonnet caused his leak. So I tightened, loosened, tightened, in increments until -BOOM, no more leaking.

I know some people are into Reddit, Facebook groups, etc, and I do a little of that, but forums that last are really a great way to find information quickly and easily.

But I sure do appreciate the forums, and my imaginary friends I've made over the nearly 20 years of doing this.

Geez, I'm not even drinking (yet) and I sound like in the "I LOVE YOU MAN!!!" stages of intoxication......:)
