Fix beer that is too light.

Have you checked your tilt in water? I drop mine in distilled water about every other batch to do a quick check. They are normally spot on in water. I did the calibration on one that was reading a little off. I agree with @Minbari , mine have never really been off by more than a few points.
My tilt is spot on at OG and always several points off for FG.
 
But isn't it normal to have a higher FG if my mash temp was too high? Why do you think my tilt is wrong?
Usually my FG is fine. And to be honnest I don't care too much. Just want to know when it's stable and when fermentation is done.

because most of them are, lol. I have two, neither of them is perfectly accurate. they are perfect for trends though, as you said. it will tell you when it is done.

My understanding is that mashing at a higher temperature range results in sugars that are more complex and harder for yeast to break down. So yes, this should result in a higher FG at the end of fermentation.

That's what I use it for: stable or not.

Your tilt could be spot on. It's mine that isn't.
