First time brewer, looking for a first time suggestion.

2nd that Mark Pilsner Kolsch damn fine beers but a tribute to the Brewer who does them well. If I'm visiting a craft brewery I'll find their flaws in a Pilsner that's if I can taste em.

Not saying a well balanced APA is super easy to brew though , took me several attempts to get mine to feel , smell and taste just right and looking to make it better every brew

I'd suggest something a bit different... wait for it, might get knocked over in the excitement...

Dark Mild

Now then... I got several reasons why....

1. It tastes nice & complex
2. Grain bill is small & easy to work with.
3. Drinkable almost as soon as the last bubble pops out your fermentor.
4. Low ABV, 3 to 4.
5. Will taste OK whatever errors, thumbles, troubles you have.
6. Just a smattering of fuggle hops
7. Tastes ok when flat! just in case your bottle conditioning & it does'nt happen.
8. No head, no problem. A mild doesn't need to have much of one.
9. The dark malts will cover most things a pale beer won't.
10 When it end up being a great example, it'll put hairs on your mother-in-laws chest, without making her take her clothes off.

and.... I still got some of my first attempt at AG! A high ABV, highly hopped IPA. Tastes like cats piss. 8 years to mellow from something really nasty. :D
