I couldn't get mine to drain on it's own

For what it's worth, I add my IC as soon as I cut power to my heating element after the boil. I also use a 120V High Gravity system but I installed a steam condenser (I brew in my basement and don't want ventilation) so my lid is on during the entire boil, making it impossible to add an IC earlier.
