Dry hop with fresh hops

Have you dry hopped with fresh hops? I am concerned about contaminating the beer with whatever might get into the beer along with the hops.
 
I believe hops do have some degree of preserving properties. In fact the IPA style was born from the British making their beer with a higher alcohol co tent, and with more hops to have it keep longer on the expeditions to, wait for it... India!
 
But no, I have never used any hops that were not pelletized. I don't think that there should any concerns with contamination from loose hops.
 
I have, once, and did not encounter any issues with contamination. I did not take any special actions.
 
Yeah antimicrobial is the word on the street don't stress make beer it's good for you and me:D
 
I "dry hop" with cacoa nibs, juniper berries, fruit, etc. Never have had an infection, never have even tried to sanitize it
