Do you have a group of recipes that follow a theme?

I’ve been working on a “theme” for a “family” of Shady Bohemian” beers. The way I look at it, they should be classic styles, beers that would not have been out of place back when the Bulin Brewery was still in business 120 years ago. They wouldn’t be the only beers I make, but I would be very particular about what got a Shady Bohemian label.
 
Both my grandkids have beers named after them.
HIPAPA ( Hi Papa) is a holiday red IPA.
Late November birthday.
The H in front of IPA is a welcome to the world and the PA at the end is what he calls me.
Sun Kissed is summer shandy with orange peel and coriander. Obviously she's a summer baby who is so kissable!
Next up will be one for my daughter's wedding day.
Working on the name now and then I'll develop the beer.
Thinking 7-24/24-7 as that's her wedding day and it is an always and forever thing.

Do you mean a theme for beer names or something that's consistent about the recipes? Recipes are going to be dictated by particular styles. If you did a line with a specific yeast across a few different styles, maybe that would qualify. As for names, I personally think too much attention is paid to coming up with clever names for homebrews.
If you intend to enter the legal brewing market, then branding is extremely important and beer names should be a consideration. It's unfortunate, in a way, but people try a new beer based solely on how the lable looks and whether the name resonates in some way.
 
I have some "names" for some of my beers but they've been spontaneous and relevent to the particular beer or sometimes an event or person.
I'm having to give that whole thing a lot more thought lately because I'm in the exploratory stages of starting a brewing business. It's not a sure thing at this point but branding, labeling and names will be come extremely important very quickly. :)

The names I give to my beers fall under the following categories.

Recipes that come from an LHBS, or a fellow brewer, I don't change the name.
I will rename a recipe though if I have altered it, and or if there is some significant spontaneous event or person that occurs.
Here are a few...

"Bloody Finger" Cranberry Chocolate Stout was a recipe that I found here by Richard McAteer here on BF.
I did make a number of modifications and did some experiments to determine how much chocolate, cramberry, and vanilla to add.
The name "Bloody Finger" however came from the "incident" that happened on brew day when I lost a good portion of the pad of my right index finger...

Cit Ruby Cit American IPA was a recipe that I got from my LHBS, except I started making a number of changes, one of which was to add two ounces of Citra hops to the fermenter. I was holding up 2 one ounce pouches of Citra hops, and Ruby must have thought they were treats as she immediately sat without being asked!

Cragunitas American IPA was a Lagunitas clone recipe. First time I brewed it I was half in the bag. By the time I got to the boil it seemed only logical that I double all of the hop additions! Drunker = smarter, right! The next morning I thought, crap, I probably ruined it, but it turned out so well that I have brewed it several times since, including this past March. Seemed only logical to name it Cragunitas
 
Very rarely do I plan to brew a beer more than two brews ahead three is non existent in the time I've been at the kettle.
This is where I know id fail in the big league I don't plan ahead much maybe for Christmas or birthday ect I'll start putting in a brew day - glass timeframe.
I brew most beers on a whim.
I'm always thinking about beers watching Vlogs about beers or typing on here about beers
So the brew I make next is usually influenced by the tasty beers I've either been imagining about that week or have been reading about/watching that week.
That's what makes it a hobby right - I don't Brew For Nobody but Me;).
This all changes when putting on the Commercial brewing hat.

So to answer your question Bulin my hombrewing Theme is Influence what Beer style INFLUENCES me most at this moment :).
Part of the reason we formulated brewer of the Quarter! Another great influencer:rolleyes:
 
I've started doing it mostly because I keep fiddling with recipes and need to stop losing the old recipe when I liked it more.
