Do yeast strains change over time?

Water treatment is definitely another area I could jump into. My LHBS has all the brewing salts and has offered to work with me using RO water. That being said, the RO water isn’t that much cheaper than the Deer Park spring water. Then there’s the likelihood of improving the beer flavor with water treatments, but have held back on that as our beers have always been delicious and for the ones that are clones, they too taste better than their namesakes. Regarding the ice, I’ve been thinking about adding an ice maker, but 44 lbs of ice (2, 22 lb bags of ice per brew), is a lot to ask from an ice maker. It all makes sense, it’s just breaking out of a well established routine is hard to break... especially when we love what we and our friends and family enjoy.
