Hey folks...proud cheap bastard here....has anyone had any success with fusing silicon? I want to seal one end of hose with a pinch sort of closure...think a round wedge shape... open on the round side, tapered to a wedge on the other side. The material's high heat tolerance makes it just a little difficult unlike working with typical plastic...

Silicone rubber does not have a melting point, it stays solid until it burns.

It would have to be closed mechanically: metal band, wire, adhesive or a good knot.

so are you wanting to just shut the hose end permanently or have the ability to open and close it?

I'm thinking like a cap like you'd see on a tube of caulk that you could pop on and off of a barb connector.
