I have decided to make a dark lager and settled for an American dark lager but my choice of grains come from 3 different country's and one is very hard to get hold of. I have chosen the grains on the characteristics I find most favourable for the taste I'm after.
uk pale 2 row base malt,
Finnish melanoiden malt
German carafe 'll
What would be a better sub for the melanoiden malt and would another Dark Lager be a better base to build from. For the complete recipe look up The coal miner on the BF recipies.
THANK YOU KINDLY
