https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/933021/brown-ale-v1 so I was tweaking this brown ale recipe but something feels off but I cant put my finger on it. any thoughts? thank you
i would get rid of the rye. That small of an amount won’t have any impact. Edit- didn’t realize it was chocolate rye. Carry on.
I think you're pretty close and it would probably be fine as is. My thoughts, for arguments sake: I'm not a big Crystal lover so I would cut the C60 and either up the Chocolate Rye for desired color or add a little Brown Malt. Or maybe even go with some Dark Munich. My preference only. Everyone's mileage will definitely vary. Good luck. Keep us posted.
That is plenty of caramel malt with aromatic malt, should be some complex flavors there. The rye may help to dry out the caramel too. Brew on!
