Greetings from Northeast Louisiana. About a two years ago, I decided to start brewing again after about a 10-year hiatus. I had brewed for about 15 years before taking the break.
One of the things I found was that everything has improved. Better equipment, ingredients, software, and resources.
So I bought a SS Brewtech 3.5 gallon brewbucket. I built a keezer with a chilled water reservoir on one end and kegs on the other end. And I have been pretty much designed my own recipes using the BF software.
I have been perfecting a Louisiana-style saison, and make several other Belgian styles. I also make a decent APA. I like making the 2.5 gallon batches, as I don't drink beer as quickly as I did when I was younger. I have also been experimenting with streamlining the brewing process. With a few minutes of prep the night before, I have been able to shorten brew sessions to as short as 90 minutes with no ill effects.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing what everyone else is doing with beer. Cheers!
