Has anyone used this?
I read the instructions when I bought it but didn't really do the math. It says start with 1 oz per gallon and then increase 1oz at a time to taste. I have 5.5 gallons of beer but only a 4 oz bottle of extract. Should I just use the bottle and hope for the best or should I go buy another one?

You can always add more, it's a b@tch to take it out though!
When I added pure Cranberry juice to a beer I bought a similar beer to what I was making and test dosed it proportionally to get a feel for how much to add. After doing that and dosing the batch based on my test results, I actually nailed it. Hope this helps...

Long ago I tried making a cherry wheat with the stuff. The label suggested 3-4 oz for 5 gallons. I went with 2 oz thinking it would be easier to add later if needed and that was plenty for what I was going for. I'd go more for a more robust brew like a stout or something.
