I'm a big fan of Brewers friend. I've tried the brew sessions a couple times and find them a bit laborious. I wish there was somethIng a little more free form or casual where I could just record notes of the brew, fermentation, and tasting and have it logged like a journal. Anyone else feel same?

You can add log entries in the brew log along the way as your brew progresses from wort to beer.

Same , I do other things while brewing so won't sit there ticking off boxes I don't need to .

Once mash is in and temps are settled I have a bad habit of walking next door to the pub for a beer

Brew day yesterday didn't even look at the brew schedule pretty much had the recipe memorised. Definitely didn't look at check boxes I think that's a beginners thing and can see it would be real helpful for someone starting out. Sorta like a brew coach saying ok you'll need to heat up X amount of sparge water now or get ready to insert Imersion chiller next.

We print out a hard copy of our own set of stats and only use portions of the session, notes, gravity readings etc. Never have used the check boxes or timers.

I've mentioned this myself to the developer- and it's "too much" for me also. We're working on updates, and this is on the list!
