I occasionally get to have a beer while I’m brewing. Most of the time I’m brewing while doing something else. As for food, I do not have a particular but I have enjoyed grilling while brewing

I water the garden during the mash & drink coffee & tea during the brewing session.
Beer comes sometimes later.

So do I. A perfect time for beer during brewing. Exceptions to no early morning drinking: 1 brewing 2 sunrise on the beach 3 vacation.

I usually break for some diner between brewing and clean up...depends on what wifey's up to. I do do a good breakfast since I'm gonna be at it for the next 6 to 8 hours..and no beer until clean up!

I guess that is why I like the bag. Get the strike water going between 7:30 & 8. Clean up is usually done by noon. I allow myself 1 beer during the mash. I'm not trying to get drunk around a bunch of boiling liquid, but a pint of something fairly moderate or mellow (my beers usually are) won't kill me.
