I’ve been working with my Brew Easy Compact now for about a dozen brews and still trying to get it dialed in. Since it constantly recirculates water through the grains, it seems to operate more efficiently than a simple infusion mash. I have on a few occasions achieved much higher gravities than expected. Since the system is not one of the default systems in Brewers Friend, I’m looking for any suggestions for adjustments to make in my grain bill or rest times.

The recipe builder allows for brewing method, brewhouse efficiency, boil-off rate, losses in several places, and more. With all these you can create a profile for your equipment. Have a look, come back here with questions, we’ll get it sorted.

not familiar with it but it looks to be a continuous fly sparge system
what I remember about fly sparging besides being hard to dial it in is that you need to be consistent with the sparge. you want the grain to remain wet by not draining to fast
I would get it set up to do that first then don't change the rate
once you establish your efficiency you can adjust your grain bill to get the OG your looking for based on your efficiency not the publisher recipe

that said wheats are a problem easy to get a stuck sparge

So, I looked up continuous fly sparge system and that clearly is the Breweasy system. Mine is the Breweasy Compact, which has a basket for the grains and a tube with perforations that extends down into the grain basket, recirculating the liquid through the grains. Essentially, I guess that makes it a fly sparge system. It seems clear that I need to be taking better notes so I can use the recipe builder to more effectively develop my recipes.
