Don't think I every saw those types of bottles in the US...(albeit, post '70s)
Remember my father talking about this being the local brew when he was young...

Tried it myself end of the '90s ....and it wasn't great. Surprising considering Saranac made / makes(?) good beer, but that....

The stubbies were part of a complete childhood growing up in Canada.
EVERYTHING came in those bottles from every brewer.
Very strong robust bottles, reused over, and over again, and that was before recycling was even a thing!
Our Brewers Retail recovers over 98% of packaging from alcoholic beverages, either for reuse, or recycling.

Just thought of another brew gone by the wayside. As we use to say in East Texas, "The big surprise in the little gold can --- Bulldog Malt Liquor"
