Auzzie's and Kiwi's .........coopers yeast!

Ok I have a couple of buddies in Australia right now, I want to get some Coopers yeast, the real stuff not the crap we have here in Canada. As far as I have read here on BF the only real way is to harvest it from the bottle.
So..................if I have my buddies buy some Coppers (what type?) and save me the last 1/4 inch of a few bottles, in a little clean mason jar is this going to work (assuming I do everything right once I get it)

2nd this coopers Pale the green labeled one .
I see White labs do and Australian Ale yeast WLP009 I wonder if any resemblance to coopers strain?
I am wondering how customs will go trying to get it out of Aus and into Canada?

Would have thought you could buy Cooper's Original Pale Ale in Canada? Maybe ordering over the interweb. Several places in New York sell it, so would have thought other outlets in north america would stock too.
