What's everyone serving for Thanksgiving?

I would prefer to have a pale lager on tap but I don't have it ready.
I'll serve my Game Day Alt in pitchers with a pickled cheese I made along with a few different sourdoughs I baked up a Spelt, a Rye, and a pumpernickel. Then we'll move on to the turkey
I originally tried to get dinner served at noon since games start at 1 but my sister said 1:00 so one it is. The games will be on in the brewery and I'm sure my niece and nephew will be down there
I'll screw off the tap handles

Plenty of food and football. I’ll be at my grandparents along with my mom, her brother, my younger brother and all the spouses and kids to go with it. No alcohol there.

Heading up to the in laws tonight for a couple of nights. We're bringing the beer and a charcuterie board, so nothing too labor intensive. I get to sit back, watch football, drink beer, and eat all day long. Heaven :D

Hmm. Not Oatmeal. Or Oatmeal Stout.

Commercial beer of one type or another. I have some Hefe left in the keg, but I really really gotta brew that Brown soon.

Shame shame
Get to work

Usually my sister does the day but this year a lot of the family was heading to Germany for the holidays. When they heard I was having a couple people they changed plans and told me they are coming here. Maybe they planned it all along

I'm cooking turkeys on the smoker overnight. I have my dark lager for tomorrow, but I just ran up to Publix to get some Funky Buddha so I wouldn't drink all mine tonight. My wife's mother used to love eggnog when she was alive, so I had to pick up a little of that too. Mine might have a little dark rum in it in the morning after I take the turkeys off:)

Looks like it is just my stepson, wife and me for dinner - so just a small turkey, sprouts, mash, etc. Beer wise I have an ESB, a red ale and a little Mary's Mild (dark mild, about 3.4% ABV). I do have a Chocolate Cherry Porter which should be good in another week or two, and I'll be kegging an "old fashioned" bitter at the weekend that I made with Chevallier malt - looking forward to see how that tastes! But, I think I'll be the only beer drinker - Mary "might" have a glass of mild, but my guess is she'll stick with wine!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my Murican friends!

My buddies and I celebrate every year by moving our Wednesday night gathering to Thursday. We are at my place this week, I am making a Shepherds Pie for our meal. Will have the Cragunitas on tap, commercial brews other than that.

Missed your Thanksgiving up north. I remember it's our Columbus day. I have a bunch of Canadian cousins. I remember their football had the goal posts in front of the end zone. Other oddities as well but can't remember. We used to go in the fall to my uncle's farm in Quebec. They moved in the 70s when the French wanted to susede. Their father moved his business to Toronto then they all dispersed. Actually my grandparents Immigrated to Canada from Europe

CFL football oddities
Only 3 downs, some say run, pass, kick
Two 50 yard lines (110 yard field)
Field is also quite a bit wider
Goal posts are near the front of the end zones
End zone is much deeper than NFL as well.

Having said that, they are making some changes next year, not too sure exactly, but the goal posts are going to the back of the end zones (player safety, and an obstacle to play making removed)
I believe the field will also be shortened, but the width will not change. I think end zones will become smaller too.
Another difference is the motion before the snap, typically all wide receivers are in motion and crossing the line of scrimmage as the ball is snapped.
There are other differences...
At one time there were two teams called Rough Riders, Ottawa folded a few decades ago. When they got another team Saskatchewan said, no way, get your own name...
This year was the 112th playing of The Grey Cup.
I'm not a fan of the league really, but I did go to the 100th Grey Cup, it was in Toronto.
All the best players, at least most of them are American.

Happy thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

A bit late now, but it’d be a rip to text them all from Stuttgart today, eh? Boy would they be surprised…

Happy Thanksgiving to all my not-really-imaginary friends and fellow brewers.

Update: At about 11:00pm yesterday "most" of our power went out. I say "most" because clearly it was one phase that failed (most houses have two phases running to the house and the 110 circuits are split between the two phases) - some outlets and lights worked, some didn't! Unfortunately the furnace did not work so I was up most of the night keeping the fire burning for a little heat! Well, about 10 minutes ago, ALL power was restored - in time to cook turkey!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a good one. I had some help putting mine together, and I am very grateful for that help. I sometimes have issues with the way they make charcoal these days, but the turkeys turned out quite well. Dip shit me forgot to buy celery this week, so my experimental dressing was made with mirepoix instead of trinity. It also turned out well.
The idea of the upcoming holidays has recently impacted me a great deal emotionally, but I managed to do well today. I enjoyed the hell out of my beer, but I didn't go overboard with the drinking today. I'm definitely sober enough to make up my online grocery list for next week tonight.
I'm going to try to get to bed early, so I can get up at 5am, put on three layers of clothes, and take my fishing pole to the beach.
Bless y'all, and I hope everyone was able to relax and enjoy themselves today.

Anybody getting any new brew gear or ingredients for Black Friday? Yakima Valley Hops has a sale going on, but I just restocked not too long ago

Hop alliance has a good as well
Only place with Czech Sladek unfortunately out o Kazbek but scored some Fuggles.
Also Howdy has been running black Friday all week stocked up on about 120 lbs of grain. Some good deals on kettles an such

Got a nukatap and a nikatap mini. Needed to replace a faucet that leaked and wanted one of the minis just because. Got yeast for Irish ale season and some grain to make sure I was good through 3 brews.
