    Please critic my brew day..

Beer1965, I do the same as Craigerr. As Bubba Wade said just add some to bring it up to the volume you are looking for. I slowed my boil down to a slow rolling boil and am getting consistent boil off numbers now. Congrats, you made beer! Don't worry, it'll be fine. Just keep notes that you can...

Holy cow, I actually made something REALLY good!!!

Cream Ale for the win! Sounds like a keeper. Congrats man. Don't you love it when a plan comes together. Was that hominy, the large kernel, or instant grits that you used?

    RE: Blueberry Ale.

Blueberry ale update.... Found 3 bombers in the pantry, and chilled to around 45F and they were perfectly carbonated. trialben was right! Very nice long lasting rocky head.Time, time , time. Don't really have a warm area of the house. Everywhere is abt 69F. Basement is of course cooler...

    RE: Blueberry Ale.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes that was a 5 gallon batch. Actually it was about a quart less than 5. Blueberries soaked up some of the beer I guess.

    Hoppy, Sorta SMaSH Ale.

More like SMa2H. Had some hops laying around, 1oz Magnum, and 1oz Citra. Brewed 14# GWM 2-row with the Magnum as FWH and the Citra at flameout and let stand for 20 min. Second cousin to an IPA maybe. Chilled hydrometer sample, and nice straw color and very hoppy on the nose and tongue, though...

    RE: Blueberry Ale.

Update on Blueberry Ale. Sorry to be late..... After 3 weeks , as before nice initial blueberry, a little dry and nice blueberry finish. Not sweet, chilled to about 45F and smooth. However, went back and looked at brew session notes, wife complained that is was flat. She likes a little more fizz...

    RE: Blueberry Ale.

Update on the Blueberry Ale. I have to appropriate/ steal/ reference trialbens signature about time. After 2 weeks I tried one of my Blueberry Ales. Chilled the bottle to abt 50F. Not bad, a little sharp, not very smooth, and not a very good head. Yeah, yeah I said head. After another week...

Thanks HighVoltageMan, I think the recipe also calls for minute rice and will take your advice onboard. Charlie.

That's the recipe I'm looking at. I wasn't sure whether to mash the corn before before throwing it in the mash. Thanks thunderwagn. All the best, Charlie.

    Cream Ale.

Thinking about making one to see how it turns out. Paupack brewery here in North East PA makes a very nice one and I have had the Southern Tier Cream Ale 2 years ago on tap at Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse. Seems like a nice style. However, with the flaked corn that most recipes call for.... should I...

I agree. Have a 55lb sack of GWM 2 row and few lbs of other grains. don't have to run to the LHBS when I need grain. Still have to get that sack of MO though. All the best, Charlie.
