    Touched by a skunk

So it turned out well, happy to report there are no off flavors and it's very clean tasting although a bit of a blank slate since I didn't dry hop. Still better than a store bought beer!

    Touched by a skunk

I was thinking about this on Friday but have managed to hold off for a few days longer :) I'll place one bottle in the fridge tonight and test it out tomorrow, fingers crossed!

    Touched by a skunk

The recipe is a 23L extract kit (Mangrove Jacks New Zealand Brewers Series American Pale Ale) with DME and cane sugar added. The main difference between batch 1 and 2 are that batch 2 (which tasted off) was not dry hopped. The recipe doesn't actually call for it but I usually dry hop this recipe...

    Touched by a skunk

Hi All, Main question >> can bottle conditioning for two weeks (or longer) remove a slight skunk taste, or is this a pipe dream? Context... a few days ago I bottled batches from two fermenters, the first had been fermenting for about five weeks and the second for about four weeks. The...

getting SG values of ~0.5 when Hydrom/ispindel sends data to brew session

It seems like the chart may be showing the gravity in Plato units instead of SG, although it isn't clear to me yet whether the Hydrom or the brew session UI is responsible for that.

getting SG values of ~0.5 when Hydrom/ispindel sends data to brew session

Hi All, I finally got my Hydrom to send data to Brewers Friend, using the /ispindel_sg/ path but it looks like the SG values are not close to accurate (currently at 0.437). Does anyone know if Brewers Friend converts the received SG values in the process of showing up in the brew session...
