Yeah, I felt the same way when I went to my first LBC meeting. And I agree that there should be a Newbie spotter just to keep an eye out for the potential new members. The good part about this group at least initially is that everyone will be new. Since this will basically be a neighborhood brew...

    Your boil time

Unless the recipe I am brewing calls for a longer boil, I typically stay at the 60 minute boil. I know for a fact that a few of my recipes call for a 90 minute boil but those are few and far between in my brewing sessions. I seem to remember most of the books I have read about brewing call for...

Just moved to Sedalia, CO. The newest brew journey begins.

My family and I just moved to Sedalia, CO. The area I am living in doesn't have a homebrew club nearby. Unfortunately, that also means my LHBS is over 40 minutes away. But that being the case, I have been considering starting a Homebrew Club out in the barn at La Loma (aka The Hill). I am super...

No worries. I understand the gears of app development and know it can sometimes take forever and a day. I was just curious. I can still use BF on my computer and it works fine. I just don't always have my computer with me when I go to my LHBS.

What are you doing with homebrew today?

I am totally going to look into this and probably try a porter recipe as well. Just for the fun of it. Thank you for sharing this. I am using the recipe that was found in one of his journals for the the small beer. I alsop have a bottle of the whiskey from Mount Vernon.

What are you doing with homebrew today?

A GW Small Beer is what George brewed on his plantation for his slaves as well was what was brewed during the Revolutionary War for his trips. The beer is very light in color and comes in at a 4.5% ABV. It is something I have wanted to do since visiting Mount Vernon a few years ago. I just have...

What are you doing with homebrew today?

Spent part of today doing some research on a George Washington Small Beer. I found an original recipe. So, when I get back from my tri, I will likely do a one gallon batch to see how it does, then consider a larger 5 gallon batch.
