Did I ruin my Beer with wrong yeast?

Hi, I made a wonderful beer that has been loved by myself and friends. It is the Humpty Dumpty English Bitter. I made so many mistakes the first time I made it and almost threw it out. The taste in beginning was bad. New grain father equipment and new to making beer. Anyway, I lucked out. It was...

Dry Irish Stout & other things

Hi friends, I have kegged my 2nd batch of beer. The first was an English Bitter Ale. Made every mistake one could make with the new equipment (grainfather) and had some pretty awful flavors. But many of you told me to be patient. It turned out delicious!! So good, I have ordered the grains again...

Humpty Dumpty English Bitter is likely a dumpty

hahaha. Yes, but this one went through hell to get made. I made so many mistakes with the new equipment. I upped it to 32psi and will run like this for 24 hours. then will purge tank and set it at 12 psi. That is what is suggested.

    Co2 and Nitro

Looks like I can use my taprite regulator but should get a stout spout as it goes in 2 directions for specific reasons. Now to find who does nitro. I am hoping the place that does my co2 has nitro

Humpty Dumpty English Bitter is likely a dumpty

I read 12 psi would take 2 weeks! That is too long.

Humpty Dumpty English Bitter is likely a dumpty

Too long! But I kept them until I was sure I could cut them. I can pull them out and move tanks away from kegerator. Kegerator actually has wheels even though it is going in a built in i can always move them. there are lines inside the kegerator which are separate from what goes to the co2 tank...

    Co2 and Nitro

Hi, I set up a dual zone kegerator that holds four kegs. I have my co2 line going into the two different sides which doesnt allow me to have different psi within that particular side. Right now I have or am brewing English Bitter Pale Ale, Anchor Steam Porter, Dry Irish Stout and the Noche Buena...

Humpty Dumpty English Bitter is likely a dumpty

Thanks. I just watched a video and realized there is a whole other process when kegging. I guess I will keg my porter tomorrow. Since it is going to be two weeks, it should do fine fermenting at the cold temperatures.

Humpty Dumpty English Bitter is likely a dumpty

What should I turn it up to? What temp do you suggest? I had been told at 38 degrees 12 psi. I had the temp higher and they said that I needed to up the gas. Can you help? Thanks.

Humpty Dumpty English Bitter is likely a dumpty

Finally kegged my Humpty Dumpty English Ale. Took six hours to move from fermenter because the couplers were all backwards and then I had to hook up others, etc. That said, beer is actually very interesting. I want to make it again because I know I did not get all the complex flavors. But need...

    Submersible pump

Correct. it is quite a nice system.

    Submersible pump

The cold water does not mix with the wort. The circulating cold water is in a different pipe than the recirculating wort in the grainfather. By running the wort through the cold chiller it continues to cool itself as well.

Beverage Air Dual Zone Kegerator (DZ24)

I will do that. I have a pressure transfer that allows for transfer from the top. I am definitely going to use that method. I think I will cold crash in fermenter just to get the yeast to drop. This first batch was a bit messy and it had tons of trub. The 2nd batch is almost too clean. But will...

    Submersible pump

Oh. No, with my chiller that is not necessary. Thanks.

    Submersible pump

Absolutely! This is a grainfather all in one brewer. The water I will pump through there will NOT be running through the wort. It will be running through copper pipes at the same time the wort is running and recirculating itself. It is a counterflow wort chiller that comes with the system. Sits...

Beverage Air Dual Zone Kegerator (DZ24)

That is actually a great idea. But truth is both sides will be low. But you mean cold crash without using pressure?

    Submersible pump

Good point. However, it will not be in the hot water. It will be in the ice water pushing the cold water through the chiller. It will spill back into the cooler of freezing water. If it warms it up I will put another gallon frozen jug. Been saving my water containers to use them for this. NOw...

    Submersible pump

The chiller from the grainfather is not the immersion chiller but those that use it swear by it. I am excited to make more beer this weekend. Did not want to make any until I solved these issues.

    Submersible pump

So I found pumps that are being sold through beer stores for exactly what I need but got it through Amazon cuz I had some points and instead of forty got it for six dollars. ANyway, I am quite sure my problem is solved and I will be able to chill my beer quickly before I transfer to the...
