    Cidar smells very yeasty

Hi , I have a little problem with my first batch of cidar I made with extract. I've bottled them and after 2 weeks of bottling I opened oneand tasted. It smells very yeasty. Of course the taste is not bad but the smell is not pleasant. Any idea why it is so and any solution?

I will open a bottle to drink on Saturday or Sunday to see how it tastes. But they seem to be ok by now.

    Fermentation, airlock, Final gravity issue

I am thinking maybe the yeast is not capable to handle the sugar I added to this batch. I mean after 3 weeks the gravity is still the same. And strangely, according my calculation, the ABV is exactly the same as what stands in the recipe. I mean with or without the extra sugar I added, I have...

    Fermentation, airlock, Final gravity issue

Thanks for the answer. FG is around 1.020. As I know as it is mentioned in the recipe it should be around 1.002. The problem is that I added 25% more sugar to this batch ! So, it is not rare that gravity is higher also. Also it has been staying twice longer than what it should ! So, I guess I...

    Fermentation, airlock, Final gravity issue

Hi there, I have an issue with a cidar batch I am brewing now. It has been staying much longer than what stays in the recipe. It says 6 days for the bucket fermentation or until airlock stops bubbling, or until Final Gravity doesn't change for 2 days/48 hours. The problem is that FG has not...

Yes. I did 2 times carbonating...and the second time I added nearly 10 grams of sugar in 1 liter beer ! :))

Bottled beer is very flat...no carbonation occures

The first time I used sugar for carbonating, they were staying 4 days at room temp and at least 12 days in a dark cool storage. Still they were flat. What could be wrong then?

Bottled beer is very flat...no carbonation occures

Hi, I have bottled my first batch and have added sugar for carbonating as requested in recipe. The beer came out very flat with no gas or carbonation. Nearly all of the bottles I opened were the same. I opened all of them again and added twice sugar as rrequested in the recipe. I am still...

How to increase ABV in a Beer recipe?

Thanks for the answer. The problem is that I tried brewing sugar (dextrose) which was in a cidar recipe and I added some more table sugar (0.5 kg) just to experience. It seems that that extra table sugar didn't change the ABV. So, I just don't know if the added sugar was not a good sugar to use...
