    Yeast cloudiness cleared by stirring??

You've got some good points there Nosy, I should have pointed out to the OP that I whirlpool and have a filter on the pump so the wort going to the fermenter is pretty good. I use a conical fermenter with a yeast dump as well so by the time fermentation is finished I usually allow it to sit for...

    Yeast cloudiness cleared by stirring??

If you use gelatin 24 to 48 hours before bottling you will have crystal clear beer but it does take longer to carbonate. Here's what I do.......... half a teaspoon of gelatin in a quarter cup of cold water and microwave in 7 second bursts until 63c to 65c stirring with the end of the...

What are your local beer trends?

My local brewery Boatrocker is doing a lot of sours and wild fermentations using a coolship, also barrel aged stouts. One that i particularly liked recently was a sour NEIPA or SNEIPA.

    Head retention with Belgian beers

The glasses can be discounted as they are perfectly good with other beers and have never seen detergent. I'll look into the diacetyl ,although I haven't detected any ( that doesn't mean there's none there though)

    Head retention with Belgian beers

Thanks for that, maybe I'll try a step mash and a little more carbonation, I've been at about 3 volumes. I'm just trying to figure out why it only happens with Belgians.

    Head retention with Belgian beers

The last couple of Belgians I've brewed, a Chimay Red and a Strong Blonde Ale have been great beers but pour with a decent head that subsides fairly quickly. I used a 90 minute mash for these and I'm wondering if this is the culprit with the highly modified malts. I haven't had this happen with...

    Tips & Tricks

I I do exactly the same as you and have never had a problem, I've thought about hitting the keg with CO2 first..................but if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Norwegian Kveik Yeast Strains Ferment @80-100F

In an APA for example do you find that you have to cut down on the aroma hops or is the citrus character of the yeast not that overpowering?

Norwegian Kveik Yeast Strains Ferment @80-100F

Sounds good, I reckon you're on the right track keeping it simple so you can see what the yeast produces.

It's happened to me a couple of times and the beers were good. I just sprayed a bit of Starsan before attaching the blowoff tube.

my brew had a blowoff is it still good

It should be fine. I now use a blow off tube all of the time, it saves the clean up hassle. Definitely don't toss it !
