    hello Yooper, I fail to hit the pre-boil gravity in my last brewing session in a big number, i also noticed that the pre-boil was relatively high vs the estimated OG (1.084 / 1.095) how the system calculate the pre-boil gravity? thx, Ben

    hey there, I'm brewing today a high gravity beer, I'm using 0.5lb of syrup sugar. the sugar will be added only during the boil. my question is, how to calculate the expected gravity at the end of the mash, without the sugar? thank you! Ben

    thank you HighVoltageMan for your notes i tested the water that im using and build a profile in the BF app , im adding gypsum and other water additives according to the recommendations i get from the app, it is a very useful tool that works all the time.

    thank you Yooper for your notes im not sure my PH meter is 100% accurate, however, i usually get the PH between 5.2 and 5.6, i'm using the BF app and add some salts according to the recommendations - works all the time. this time it dropped below 5 for the first time - maybe it is the Carafa...

    i do the same but want to change to a one step infusion, however, based on the calculators i should use a 14G kettle for high gravity batches - i believe it is too big for my setting i think i will adopt the 2X system and go with a 10G kettle and continue with the extra step if i need more...

    thank you for the prompt reply According to BF calculator it takes 7.5G of water and 17 lb of grains for a batch of a Triple - I'm not sure that 10G will be enough

    I always use a bottling bucket and also crush cold before bottling adding sugar to the to the fermentor and steering move a lot of the trub to the bottle that's a step i wouldn't skip
