    split a big brew

The robobrew will handle the boil but its the large amount of grain that would be the issue. Thanks for the tips folks. I will either split the brew or replace some of the grain with some malt syrup.

    split a big brew

I have a recipe that has just over 7kg of grain but use a robobrew. That amount of grain is too much for the robobrew. Was just wondering if splitting the brew to say 2x3.5kg grain and 15 lt strike water and 2 lt sparge. then do the brew twice and combine for the final boil. would be a long...

transfer from glass demijohn to keg using pump?

Tried that but the bellow does not fully fill, seemed to require a second squeeze. I will try it again though with the one squeeze on some non-beer liquid and see how it all goes. I did find that the valve has to be closed to even work.

transfer from glass demijohn to keg using pump?

The syphon I have is called a syphonbellow, it has a bellow in the middle and when I use it blows a big bubble of air into the fermenter which I do not like. https://www.craftbrewer.com.au/shop/details.asp?PID=5958 is where I got the syphon from. Have though of starting it in clean water then...

transfer from glass demijohn to keg using pump?

So, is it advisable to use a magnetic pump to transfer the fermented wort from the glass demijohn to the keg. Not having much luck with syphons and have the magnetic pump for brewing I read that it might introduce oxygen but just wondered if anyone else had tried it.

    Changing brew steps

I cannot seem to find where I can change the brew steps. I use a robobrew so do things a little differently and wanted to remove a bunch of redundant steps and set up to my preferred steps. Hunted through the menu but could not find where to change them. Anyone have any idea if its possible...

temp to put wort into glass demijohn

I could also hook up my pump and take from bottom to top to create a sort of whirlpool, might also try that next time too.....its all about experimentation :-)

temp to put wort into glass demijohn

Trailben, I brew inside with an electric system so probably not a good idea to run water over it, that would annoy the fermenter and wife :-) I was not stirring the wort when cooling but will try that next time I chill. The tap water is about 25C/76F so maybe with stirring it will come down...

temp to put wort into glass demijohn

Thanks for the tips, yes the temps were Celsius. I may have to run the wort chiller a little longer or do something with a bucket of ice to get it to a lower temp, I ran the wort chiller to for quite a while and it did not seem to get it below around 50C so maybe I will do something further...

temp to put wort into glass demijohn

I have just purchased a 23 litre glass demijohn for fermenting my beers. I previously used a plastic fermenter and would cool using one of those stainless cooling coils, this would get it to about 50-60 degrees. I would then put into the fermeter and put in my fermenting fridge, pitching the...
