An "ah ha" moment for me. The equipment profile bug and pre/post OG SG problem are linked.

Water calculator volumes do not match recipe by default (sparge water missing)

I'm not sure if I didn't save the recipe properly in my last test or if something changed but it worked properly when I just tested again. Learned something new anyways! Never loaded the sparge water in the mash section before, will now.

Water calculator volumes do not match recipe by default (sparge water missing)

OK couple things: 1. This is a bit confusing because (as pictured) the "Quick Water Requirements" calculator automatically shows sparge water, now I understand it's not "part of the recipe" that the "Water Calculator" considers. 2. I tried that as you instructed and it still doesn't work: Add...

Default equipment profile is not defaulting

It makes me concerned that it's not accounting for different evap rates, misc. losses, etc, which could explain why I've had such trouble hitting OGs and volumes when switching between equipment profiles. I understand that this may not be not a super common use case, most probably only have 1...

Water calculator volumes do not match recipe by default (sparge water missing)

I save the recipe after configuring all the inputs, note that the total water volume is 1.96 gallons, the mash water is 1 gallon and sparge water is 0.96 gallons: When clicking on "Link" for the Water Calculator it loads only mash water (total water set 1 gallon, mash water set to 1...

Default equipment profile is not defaulting

Also, when creating a new recipe the first thing I do is select the equipment profile since there are so many values associated with this profile like efficiency, evap. rate, mash thickness, etc. It seems like none of these values change over automatically to the values that should be associated...

Default equipment profile is not defaulting

"Brew" will carry over whatever equipment profile is selected in the recipe. If I leave the wrong default "Grainfather LODO" it takes that to the brew sessions, if I change the equipment to "Grainfather Normal" it will take that to the brew session.

Default equipment profile is not defaulting

My profile has "Grainfather Normal" set as the default: When I create a recipe it is set to "Grainfather LODO" be default:

Why do post boil gravity and OG values not match?

Cool thank you for verifying that for me.

Why do post boil gravity and OG values not match?

OK, should I assume "pre boil gravity" is wrong then too?

Why do post boil gravity and OG values not match?

I'm sorry I did not see the existing threads on this bug already. My apologies.

Why do post boil gravity and OG values not match?

This bug would also explain why it seems like I'm always off target on my OG as I've always compared to the "OG" value and not the "Post boil gravity".

Why do post boil gravity and OG values not match?

The recipe is here: https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/892817/all-pils-test-batch It's set to the fermenter. Maybe it's not important but I don't understand that logic. A loss in volume from the kettle to fermenter would not raise the OG it just changes the volume. I think it's...

Why do post boil gravity and OG values not match?

I'm confused why these aren't the same values.

    Brewers Association Beer Style Guidelines

No idea why the format came through that way. Still, does that warrant no useful reply?

    Brewers Association Beer Style Guidelines

Would it be possible to add the beer style guidelines from BA to the list in addition to the current BJCP guidelines? Source: https://www.brewersassociation.org/resources/brewers-association-beer-style-guidelines/#223

UPDATE: Grainfather Equipment Profile dialed in

What mash and brewhouse efficiency are you guys getting that are brewing on a 110v system with these profile numbers? I typically get 58-62% brewhouse efficiency and I think I should be much higher, preferably 70-75%. I think my issue is related to my grain crush and mash procedures. What crush...

Strange behavior building recipe by fermentable percentage

I documented the bugs in with screenshots and captions and this forum kept telling me my content wasn't allowed or spam like so I've posted it to imgur here: https://imgur.com/a/maj7W. Essentially the bill amount calculated from the bill % number I provide is not correct. Then later after...

Strange behavior building recipe by fermentable percentage

I documented the bugs in the attached word file. Essentially the bill amount calculated from the bill % number I provide is not correct. Then later it changes randomly.

    Attention Android app users!

I'd love to try the beta assuming it's not the same as what's published in the Play Store.
