Wednesday this week, I found one of my hop line supports; an aka, the really tall clothesline, snapped and fell. I assembled it with 4' threaded pipe, 4 sections 'tall' including the base and 2 across- I think the cross pieces may be shorter. Either way. Fortunately for me, only a few hops left to harvest this year. Today was the planned harvest.
This morning, the other end snapped in exactly the same spot. Both bases sheared on the threads, leaving a piece of the threads in the coupler. I believe I got 2-3 seasons out of them, I may need to rethink this.
I got what looks like another ounce or so of hops, so I'll dry and freeze for next year.
