BF Fantasy football league?

Friday the 29th I have a home football game to work. Sunday evening is fine with me. I hate to be an issue.

Well how many teams do you have? I may be able to get another player.
I've played against computerized managers. Kind of annoying

Sunday 31st, Monday 1st, or Tuesday 2nd can work for me

That Sunday or Monday I could. Tuesday I have volleyball till 9pm

Annoying how?

When would you be available to do the draft? Sounds like Sunday works for Josh, Craig, and me.

Annoying in the fact that their moves are predictable and no human error involved. Of course we know the game is unpredictable and anything can happen . Besides AI can care less if they win or lose. They won't have to wear the embarrassing picture. They should stay in there own lane and play amongst themselves.
Any of those days works.

I'm open to more folks joining, the more the merrier. As long as they know it's a fun, casual league. But anyone we add that's not on the forum would be immune to the loser punishment as well

A free, fun league with no pressure. Come on brewing humans get in!

I sent out league invites to you all through a private message. Turns out we could make a 6 team league if we wanted to avoid AI teams. What would y'all prefer?

Also let me know if any rules/settings look weird

How about we draft on 8/31 at 3 pm eastern?

I'm down for whatever and will make time.

11 days from the draft, wahoo!! I'm very excited to get this season going, hopefully y'all are too :) here are some tips and advice so we all draft the best teams ever:

If anyone wants to practice draft beforehand, the Sleeper app will let you mock draft against the computer. I highly recommend this to at least learn how the Sleeper interface works and how to search for players and make selections. You can also select your favorite players ahead of the real draft. While you can absolutely draft on your phone, I recommend using a computer. I like to be able to pull up ranking lists or injury reports during the draft.

Speaking of rankings, I really like the CBS analysts. They have a daily fantasy football podcast too if you really want to geek out. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/rankings/

I like to mock draft on another site that will give your draft a grade or rating using the total projected points of the team you draft. This is just for practice, as drafting on Sleeper will look totally different. You can sync the scoring settings from our Sleeper league and it will change how it makes players suggestions for you

It's also advisable to understand the scoring and league rules before the draft, so here's a quick rundown of the most important ones:
- Passing TD 6 points
- 1 point per reception
- In addition to the defense, the special teams scoring counts (TD 6 points, forced fumble 1 point, 1 point fumble recovery)
- each roster gets 2 Injured Reserve slots, in addition to the bench spots
- Playoffs start week 15. Great news, all 6 managers will make the playoffs :D
- Commissioner (me) has veto power on all trades

Edited to add: last place team must suffer the punishment!

Cheers! :D

The more time and research I put into fantasy football it seems the worse my results get...
I am going back to winging it on draft day, at least then when I suck (as per usual) I am likely to be less frustrated!
That said, with a 6 team league there will plenty of talent to go around, and there will always be valuable pick up available on the waiver wire
My other league expanded from 10 to12 teams a few years ago, which I was strongly against. It is pretty rare for there to be anyone on the waiver wire that is any good...

I call dibs on Terry Bradshaw and Doug Williams. LOL

That's the fun part, anything can happen! Doesn't matter how much research you do, everyone's team is going to look vastly different by week 15 vs draft day. I totally respect the minimal prep approach

My plan with this draft since it's a fun and casual league with fewer teams than average is to just draft players I like and that I hope will have monster seasons. And if they suck or get injured then there are so many options on the waiver wire

Oh, and of course our punishment for last place! League loser has to use this as their BF forum profile pic until Super Bowl Sunday :D
