    Tilt Pi Losing Connection

Just thought that I would share an update. After changing some of the settings in my router the signal held for several days before dropping off. An improvement perhaps? I have since moved the RP relay as suggested and that boosted the signal to -95 and all has been well since. Fingers crossed...

    Tilt Pi Losing Connection

IN the interest of trying to pinpoint the issue, I made some setting changes in my router based some information I culled from a RP forum. One user was having similar issues with their device losing its wifi connection and it was solved by disabling WWM (Wireless Multimedia Extensions) for the...

    Tilt Pi Losing Connection

Thanks for the replies. Looking at my Tilt page, the signal is averaging about -64 Danny but every few seconds it drops down to -47 and then jumps back up. The Pi is about 4 feet away from my fermenter which is a plastic Spiedel so that should not be an issue. What might be more a problem is...

    Tilt Pi Losing Connection

I got myself a Tilt hydrometer and set up a Tilt Pi using a Raspbery Pi Zero W (wireless) device a year or so ago. I have to say that although a little pricey, it has been a great addition to my brewing process. The only problem I am finding though is that I keep losing my connection between the...

    Off Flavor in Mutliple Batches

I typically pour my tap water the night before, add 1/2 campden and let it sit to take of chlorine and/or chloramine. To your second point, I am prepared to clean everything as you suggest. I was just down in my basement staring at all my equipment trying to surmise where this problem is...

    Off Flavor in Mutliple Batches

I have had been running into some issues with off flavors on my last couple batches and I am having a real hard time pinning down where things are going wrong in the process. The off-flavor itself is even difficult to nail down but it is definitely not right. If I had to guess, I would say that...

    Small Batch Keg System Recommendations

Thanks guys. I'll be surfing for small kegging systems with the rest of my morning coffee if you need me. :)

    Small Batch Keg System Recommendations

Excellent feedback and encouraging that this won't be a total waste. I am curious with the small cartridges, are you able to force carbonate the full keg with those little guys?

    Small Batch Keg System Recommendations

I have been wanting to get into kegging but space is a serious issue where I live. As such, I have no ferm chamber or keezer. I do have a beer fridge though. I have been looking at the small kegging systems that would accommodate my half batches and wondering if it realistic to think that I...

Not Hitting OG in my BIAB

That's a good point and I doubt I would pitch it unless it truly was useless. I did get myself a Tilt hydrometer (Christmas present to myself) and that has been excellent for tracking temperature and watching the graph for gravity.

Not Hitting OG in my BIAB

For the $18 I spent on this thing, throwing it in the trash won't be that hard if it proves to be more trouble than it is worth. I do plan on running it through its paces on my next batch alongside my hydrometer. This tool is not the root of my batch inefficiency problems though; I am tracking...

Hi all - new here from the seacoast of New Hampshire

Welcome! I am new(ish) here as well. Tinkered with the recipe builder on and off for a few years but I am now diving in deeper and joined the forum as well. Winter is often the best time to surf in New England (unfortunately)!

    Greetings from Massachusetts

Well that's a fair assumption but I live on the north shore of Boston. If you squint, it's almost exactly the same as Hawaii....almost.

    Greetings from Massachusetts

I realized that I skipped the introductions and went straight to the "help desk" in the forums so please pardon my manners. My name is Tom and I got into home brewing back in college and brewed for 15 years or so before taking a hiatus from it because of parent duties and my job becoming all...

Question minimizing oxidation for bottled Hazy IPA

I am in the same situation and my primary beer of choice these days is the NEIPA. For my last batch I tried fermenting in a bucket with a spigot in lieu of my glass carboy. The thought being that I won't introduce as much oxygen into the beer when transferring to a bottling bucket. The trade off...
