    Placement of CO2 tank???

Thanks for all the replies. I have one pc fan inside the keezer It runs constantly. It's mounted in the corner on the collar. I have my temperature controller set to 36F. I still get some freezing at the bottom of the keezer around the edges of the bottom. I think maybe I need another fan to...

    Placement of CO2 tank???

I built a keezer a couple of years ago and I placed the CO2 tank inside the keezer. Is this the best place for it, or should it be outside? It seems to work fine, but I do get a lot of foamy beer during warm weather. Does cold CO2 have anything to do with foamy beer?

Beer in the keezer (instead of the keg)

That is true. This is the first batch I've lost in this manner. I had one that I'm not sure what the problem was, but it turned out awful. Lost that one to dumping... I've lost CO2 also. I just found out I had orings going bad on the dip tubes and lost co2 through that keg. Oring kits are on...

Beer in the keezer (instead of the keg)

Yes the beer line was attached. I was surprised I didn't lose all my co2, but the keg was still holding pressure. It is strange. .I haven't figured it out yet. probably the oring on the out post.

Beer in the keezer (instead of the keg)

thanks, that's what I was thinking. I've ordered new oring kits, that makes 2 kegs that have failed. the other was on the gas side. lost all cO2. Time for some maintenance.

Beer in the keezer (instead of the keg)

Just returned from a trip to Germany, my first experience out of the US and Oktober Fest. It was outstanding! When I returned, I was eager to have one of my beers that I'd tapped a few weeks prior. I'd had a few of them and I felt like they were aging and getting better and I was looking...

    Attending Oktoberfests in 2024

My wife and I are traveling out of the country for the first time in about a week. We are going to Greece. After we had set up the trip and into at least a month of commitment, the travel agent sent out the messages that if any of us wanted to we could spend a couple of days in Germany. We...

    In Fermenter Timeline

I've wondered the same thing about leaving the beer in the fermenter longer than recommended. I have an IPA in the ferenter now. I dry hopped at 7 days and it seemed to me the yeast kicked back in, went back to work and they have been working real steady for two weeks. So yesterday, I dumped the...

Best way to cool the wort??????

I never heard that dry yeast didn't need oxygen. I thought they needed it to get the fermentation going.

Best way to cool the wort??????

I made a honey porter, I've made this beer at least 4 times. This last batch has a good initial taste, kinda roasty, but the after taste is kinda sharp, brash. I had about a 1/2 glass tonight and I think it was better, but still not exactly right. I'm hoping that letting it sit it will age into...

Best way to cool the wort??????

I don't have a glycol chiller, but I'm considering getting one and using it the exact same was as you described. I can get my temp. down to about 82. I usually transfer it to the fermenter and seal it off. This is in a much cooler environment, but it takes a long time to get it to pitching...

    Over Fermentation?

I recently made a cream ale that I had brewed before and really liked the outcome. I use a craft a brew catalyst fermentor and so far have had fairly good beers, some better than others, but all have been enjoyable and drinkable. The second attempt at the cream ale didn't come out as good as...
