At a work happy hour today at a brewery, I noticed some different ordering preferences. A coworker kept going back to the same thing, whereas I had something different each and every time.
What do you all do? I get it might be different if you go to a brewery versus a bar, but I'm curious

If the place is overloaded with IPAs and fruit beers, I’ll try one, and probably stick with that one. With the IPA and fruit craze, there’s not a lot left for my taste.

Depends where i am , the weather and what I'm feeling like .
I do love a red IPA called former tenant but staff know better than assume ill be having one every time I walk up to bar

There’s only one bar that I go to where my drink beats me to my seat. And it’s 200 miles from my home!

I hate to say it but I only drink at home, when I'm out I drink water there are way too many cops in my little town, they always have a guy pulled over next to a bar here

You know what fish do in water right ?
If I'm planning on having a few drinks ill uber or bus my way around , not because of our local cops but knowing my luck I'd hit a car driven by a blind nun full of orphans or puppies

I generally only drink at home. Exceptions are breweries and brew pubs, Visiting a brewery, my wife and I usually share a flight. If we're at a brew pub to eat it's usually an IPA unless they have something else that looks particularly tasty. In any event, I limit myself to 1 beer if driving, which is usually the case.

We mostly drink at home also, but love going out and hitting breweries and pubs when we can. I almost always do flights wherever we go as I like to sample just about everything. Places that we frequent most, I do have favorites that I tend to order most.
Luckily for us, we've got teen drivers still at home which = designated drivers lol. We drink responsibly when we go out, but don't drive at all.

Entirely depends on the selection.
If there is something available, which I haven't had before, then I will give it a try. In other words, if I have 4 beers, and there are 4 beers on tap or in bottles that I am not familiar with, then I am going to have 4 different beers.
If, on the other hand, I am already familiar with the selection, then I will generally stick with the one or two beers I am most interested in having. One type of session beer is generally enough, but there might be something else I really love, which has too much % or cost too many $ for more than one. Of course, then I might splurge for one as a night cap. :D

Depends where I am, my local I tend to stick to 1 or 2 beers. Mostly because the rest of it is trash. When I'm at a brew pub or something I will probably try to taste them all.

Like Hawkbox, if at a brew pub, I’ll get a flight or two of beer styles I like, elsewhere... Yeungling Lager

My Brew partner and I very much enjoy going to different breweries we always get a flight and split it then if there's one that we like we will get one of them maybe. As far as any specific kind of beer we like them all. One Brewpub might have an excellent Porter but cream ale is blah. Another one may have an excellent IPA but their stout is blah.

I'm driving up to Round Rock tomorrow morning from San Antonio it's just north of Austin for a little bit of business and thought my wife and I would stop in at Pint House Pizza for lunch and try one of there taps.

If we get out to Brickstone Brewery an hour away, I can sample the whole lot...My wife doesn't drink so transportation is no issue, unless she get's worked up about my behavior. Most places here in the land of socialism only serve up commercial domestics Bud, Miller, etc. and a couple of imports in which case Heineken will do. Brickstone must start with a Hop Screamer, everything else on the menu after that is just fine.

The one thing I do is stay away from the 12 or 10 oz pour for the same price as a 16 oz. The margin on the 16 doesn't make up for the added malts or hops in the short pours? Keep em.

i dont drink out much neither and usually its at local pub where stone and wood is their craftiest option other than mainstream beers so i stick with that.

No matter where I go the first thing I look for is a red or amber ale. Never met an amber I didn't like. Then I start getting adventurous but lean toward stouts.

I'll start with their light yellow beer. if they can get that right, generally their other stuff will be good.
