Just finished building and testing my first DIY stirplate. I used this controller from ebay https://www.ebay.ca/itm/DC-6-30V-12...m=172837330670&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

Super easy to wire, no soldering required. Power comes from an old 6v adapter, the fan and magnets from an old PC. can't wait to put it to use growing some yeast

i got a similar voltage regulator for my DIY stir plate youll be glad you invested in a stir plate.
looks pro

Including the stir bars I got (I got a set of 7 for $14 off Amazon ) I am into this for about $20. The rest of the materials were things I had lying around. The erlenmeyer flask was bought, but I would have had to buy that either way, but I did get it for $10.

At a local homebrew store. It isn't borosilicate glass, but it isn't really an issue for me because I have been making starters in growlers for years and have learned to avoid thermal shock of the glass. Now I don't have to shake a growler anymore, just set it on the stirplate and forget it.

Cool, I was going to say, an erlenmayer here is like $80 for a 2000ML one.

Sweet. I have a 2L right now so I'm good but it just confirms the ridiculous markup here.
