I made a hopyard

This weekend I made a hopyard. It has four 20' poles with 16' above grade. I used 1/8" galvanized and coated cabling for the top run and guy wires. I'll be streaming 1/4" twine down for the bines to train on. I'll be planting 6 hop plants this spring - 2 between each set of poles offset on either side.

This was a frumpy flower bed that the previous owners of the home let go - it was filled with hostas which I dug out this weekend before setting up the hoppoles. I think it turned out well.

I'll be planting:
• 2 Cascades
• 1 Centennial
• 1 Brewers Gold (US)
• 1 Chinook
• 1 Magnum (US)

Planting will be around May time frame with harvest mid- August.

Outstanding work wood house I know who I'll be hitting up of info when and if I ever get round to having a crack at this! Gee you've done your research eh? Looks pro. Good hop selection too. How long roughly do you think till your first harvest ?

I'll be planting in May and harvesting mid-August this year...so rougly 6/7 months from now. I chose the hops that work best in my climate and are versatile enough to work in lots of different styles.

I thought you had that wire on a pully so you could draw it back down like a flag pole not sure if this would work?
