What are you doing with homebrew today?

Thanks
I was thinking of going to do the same on one of my future brews
And then it suddenly occurred to me that I can get the slices in my oxebar keg, but not out!
I don't think you need to put them in the keg
Most of the esters should be released when you "dry hop" at high krausen in the fermenter
I wasn't going to put them in the keg
Last minute decision

I agree...
I would like some feedback from you if you think adding slices at the boil gives a different taste compared to "dry hop" timing?

I did both, added at late boil for flavor then at high krausen for aroma and probably some flavor

will you use dried slices or live? I'm not sure it makes a difference
putting them in the keg is fine but would be nervous about bottling

I've only used fresh.
Peel dried or fresh.
Check out the oxebar kegs... Small opening, won't be able to get them out again :)

mine is 17 IBU but it seems a bit more from the bitterness of the peel

From Wednesday night, with FG being where it should be I set the fermenter to 2C, will probably keg this Sunday

Cold crashing my wee heavy, 85F outside temps be DAMNED because the garage now has climate control. It's a cozy 68-69F in there now.
Temp fell like a stone !
I use a tilt, and 2 cooling circuits from a chiller. The main chiller that runs through the center of the wort, and I've wrapped the outside of the fermenter with tubing for the 2nd circuit. Both cooler circuits use a temp sensor. The main one is via a fermenter thermowell, the 2nd I have on the outside of the bottom of the kettle underneath the jacket and insulation.

Tilt says 38F / main circuit sensor says 35 at the thermowell, close to the cooling coil and the outside one says 37F. This is down from about 52F this morning. It took my 6 ounce sample about a day for the yeast to drop out and give me an idea what it will taste like, so tomorrow I'll start collecting yeast.

It's a good deal on Amazon right now! Name brand, waterproof, goes up to over 500F, comes with the battery and pot clip. I got it on sale for $17
I got it on Amazon but I think I paid $19

As far as I can tell the only difference besides $2 is 510 has different head with a list of temperatures for different foods which I don't need obviously
should have looked closer. Still under $20 is a good deal. I have a no name fold up digital that was also inexpensive. Had it for a long time. I had pricier ones that didn't last. I have some analog ones and finally figured out that you can re calibrate, I kept tossing them
