Yeah, I probably have 60-70 on my current equipment, albeit steadily upgraded over time. I think 80% I’ve gotten once, 78% a few times and mostly I’m hitting 72-75-ish and yeah the more lawnmower the beer, the higher my efficiency :)

78% is good!

Generally the bigger you go the more better your gear gets. I hate my current gear, but I am slowly dialing it in! The big systems that I have worked on have been high 80s to low 90s for efficiency.

Gotta love mondays in the deep south. my glycol chiller tripped on sunday and heated up both my lager tanks to about 90f...joy.

On a positive note, they are at both below 20c at this point. The heat index is over 110f here today.

it will be interesting to see how this effected them. I am prepared to dump both if needed(or fruit/salt the mexi lager). Both were spunding at 10psi so we shall see how that effected the flavor profile. The chiller i have is Super stupid. When the high pressure alarm trips it shuts off the cool but continues to pump glycol. very very stupid.

both batches were mid fermentation so im gonna let them finish out and see where they end up. I can always crank out a voss based amber ale or something.

Getting the chiller serviced this evening...just waiting on glycol to be delivered.

now the question becomes do i crash them all the way back down to the fermentation range or leave them a little higher... i have the jackets set to 16c, where they want to be down at 13-14c.

i think the dunkle is gonna be fine, i dont think it would benifit at this point from dropping down all the way. the mexican lager was at 47% atten and the dunkel was at 73% this morning. i would have turned the dunkle up either way, but the mexi.......
