Duotight fittings

Next question
Do you use check valves? I see they are available or would that be redundant if I just use the online regulators

This is not a swivel fitting

Duotite fittings are for 8mm (5/16”) tubing, right? Automation Direct and McMaster-Carr (and surely others) sell these.

The duo tight fittings I have are 3/8", ut they do have 8mm (5/16) as well

I guess it’s just a brand name for something that’s pretty much a commodity in the pneumatics world. And they likely come in many different sizes.

Just had a look at my spunding valve, and it also uses 3/8 inch tubing. Whoda thunk?

The duo tight fittings have 2 orings, where all other push in style fittings have one oring, plus most push in style fittings are for pneumatic applications, however they are quite common for water/liquid as well. Big difference being the oring material. Pneumatic fittings will have nitrile orings to stand up to the oil that will be present in compressed air, water pH will cause nitrile to swell up and leak

Good to know. My use case is generally for CO2, not liquid.

I'm comfirming they come in 2 sizes. There are reducers available as well

I had a leak in an adapter I was using on my spunding valve for a pressure fermentation. At first I thought the keg I was using had a leak. Very frustrating.

I can confirm they also come in .25 | 1/4”
Difficult to see the size difference between the 1/4” and 5/16” without a comparison piece so buy with caution.
