Where do the BF folks discuss hops? Anyone else thrilled with the 2023 crop of Galaxy hops? I'm on batch 3 & 4 this year and loving it. Nice change from my Mosaic/Citra grind. Know about a great hop harvest year? Do share.

I suppose we do it here :)
I'm still not do clued up about hops.
I seem to use and like the noble hops, probably having a lot to do with Belgiums being my favourites and there the yeast is more important than the hop.
Keen to learn more though

I've replaced Mosaic with galaxy in this last batch, haven't tasted it yet but I'm sure it will be good

I bought a pound of Rakau recently and loved what it brought to the party. I like using a blend of hops. I have found Galaxy kind of expensive, have used it once and liked it though. My go to hops are Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic, Amarillo, Chinook, Centenial, and now Rakau. I use Magnum for bittering.

My bride likes the noble hops, too. Brown with Fuggle is her stable and she will know if I change anything in the recipe.

I used 8oz of each citra, galaxy in a 10 gallon batch

I would guess you are adding those large amounts late in the boil or dry hopping. Most of my Galaxy is added at 5-10 minutes of the boil and as a dry hop. Around 2 oz, single hop brew, spread throughout the boil and fement has worked well.

I do a power off chill down to 170 add the hops then a hop stand for 30 minutes the hops will clog my pump otherwise then a whirlpool while chilling

Are you doing any bittering hop with this method? I've tried late boil additions and slow cool down, and additions at 180 with a 30 minute stand. The results have been good.

Some recipes bitter at 60 and some at 30 minutes, not all are the same but that hoppy pale ale recipe uses a lot of gypsum so it need a 30 or less or it's too bitter

Hops - Talking Trash... The disparity between hop pellets is huge. One brand will look like Lupo-Max and have very little sticks & leaves, and another will look like they took a bale of hay and put it through the pellet machine. Are you all noticing this, too?
