So I’m brewing this morning, BIAB style. After strike water reaches the target, I put my paint strainer bag in the kettle, and slowly begin adding the crushed grains while stirring. Apparently my stirring was too vigorous as the bag pulled away from the lip of the kettle, and some of the grains went into the water outside of the bag. I cursed, got the bag secured, and continued adding grains. Hopefully, this won’t be a problem.
Does anybody have any feedback, like should I try to strain out these grains before adding to fermenter, or should I strain before the boil? My practice is to add the entire contents of the kettle to the fermenter.
Thanks in advance for any constructive feedback.
