Normally I listen to The HomeBrew Happy Hour podcast when I'm doing something home brew related. And normally I just listen on Spotify instead of watching on YouTube. But there was something they covered last year that I wanted to refer to so I went to their YouTube page and saw a face that looked a lot like the owner of my LHBS (TrueBrü). Then I realized it was indeed the owner of my LHBS. It was interesting to hear about some behind-the-scenes stuff and how he got started. One of the things he mentioned is that he first looked into taking over the retail space vacated by Norther Brewer, after they left the brick-and-mortar world. He was stunned by how much they were paying for rent! So it's not surprising why NB left and why he is a little further out and in a smaller store than he would prefer. Remember to always support your local home brew store (if you are lucky enough to have one); even if you have to pay a buck or two more than online.

On a similar note, I recommend listening via spotify (or another audio) instead of watching it on youtube. Some people who appear are really ugly (especially again this coming Thursday) so you may just want to not have to see that. :)

I do agree with supporting 'small guys'. My favorite store is still over 120 miles away, Rite Brew, but his shipping is fair and he's a solo guy working hard and gives the best prices around. I always spend my money with Rite Brew unless it's something he can't get.
