So im brewing an IPA and for the first time i used x2 packets of yeast (US05) as called for by the recipe. After 17days im still getting regular action through the air lock however the gravity has remained the same for over 3 days now. So confused and not sure whether to bottle or wait a while. Any helpful advice would be appreciated. Cheers.

Welcome Allen!
Please share your recipe and the brewing process you used.
Also what was your gravity reading before pitching the yeast and what is the gravity now.
Finally did you use a hydrometer or refractometer for your readings.

Hi Allen, welcome! The best way to determine the end of fermentation is through gravity readings. Airlock observations can be misleading after primary fermentation has ended. If the gravity of the beer remains constant over a 3 day period, then it's usually safe to say that primary fermentation is complete. Cheers!

Ok so i dont have the info on me at the moment of grain bill and recipe but it was a fairly standard process of mash in mashout, a hop stand etc. The gravity was 1062 and its now just over 1010 and it was a hydrometer.

Sounds like you're good to package, keep us posted how it turns out!

Great , as Sunfire said it’s done. Enjoy the brew, now on to the next batch

agree with @Sunfire96 , also, is the beer warming up at all? that can cause co2 to come out of suspension and you will see it in the air-lock, even though fermentation is done.

I agree with the others...
If your gravity reading stays the same it should be finished (or stalled, but then your gravity would be much higher)
Changes in atmospheric pressure can cause the airlock to move

If you dry hopped, there is a phenomenon known as Hop creep. Hops contain enzymes which can prolong a fermentation.

Us05 is a bio transformation hop too which is also known as hop creep. I’ve had a few dry hopped beers fermented with us05 keep going for a while but I keg. Bottles would be a nightmare.
