Rogue Brewery is no more :(

It was an Oregon institution for sure. I remember Dead Guy and the hazelnut brown in grocery stores since I was a kid. My friends and I drove 45 minutes out to Newport each time one of us turned 21 to splurge on dinner at the brewery. A pilgrimage of sorts. Sounds like they owe half a million in back rent and I've seen talk on reddit that the working conditions were terrible. But you can't deny that the beer was legendary

Had to operating at a loss for quite a long time to owe that kind of money, that's rough for all involved

Terrible news for the employees and sad for the loss of some classic beers. I've been a Dead Guy fan for at least 20 years. I just had one on draft in Cleveland's Little Italy and it was great. I guess that one was my last. :(

I'm sure I'll be trying to brew a clone sometime soon after I try to find some cans still on the shelves to stash away in the fridge.

MIL lives in Waldport so I got to go to their taproom a few times. Didn’t know things were that bad on the inside. Too bad someone couldn’t take over but that back rent debt yikes!
