So this morning I went to get my grains and this is what I did. I got my 3 lbs 2 row, 3 lbs caramel 20... then 3 lbs red wheat. Wait 3lbs caramel 20, was only supposed to be .5 Lbs.!! For some reason I thought I was weighing the red wheat. It was all mixed together in the bag, so I had to buy it. Anyway I'm brewing it now, any thoughts how this might turn out? Using lots of Amarillo hops because this was supposed to be a gumball head clone. Thanks.

Split it in half, add LME or DME and two batches ???
Not sure what to think of a beer that is 1/3 C20.

and the moral to the story is always separate your grains into individual bags even crushed, always reweigh at home, I personally buy 5 pounds a bag at a time for all grains but 2 row and stock up for the whole year, then I weigh and grind as needed

might be a bit sweet. not sure how you can save it. maybe just hope for the best....

yes lesson learned. I think splitting it into 2 batches would have been my best bet, but I already brewed it. Maybe If its too sweet after primary I can try dry hopping? Or maybe it wont be bad at all. I still get some anxiety when I go to my lhbs, I need to relax a bit more when I go there.

Hop tea at bottling to cut the sweetness.... My favorite IPAs are very sweet base beers with lots of IBUs to balance them out. Give it a try but use a very flavorful hop. Might salvage the beer.

Ok I will try the beer before it's bottled and if it is too sweet I am going to do this. I was thinking 1oz Amarillo hops? Thanks for the info.

You could brew a 100% pale ale or 2-row beer and blend them together.

Im going to wait and see how this tastes on its own, but thanks for the idea. I don't mind sweet beers really, maybe something like a Magic Hat #9. So I'm not going to tinker with it unless its really undrinkable. Cheers
