Fancy Hydrometer?

I'm hydrometer for OG if I'm organised. The tilt is good enough for FG. I don't need that level of precision on ABV, just whether it's finished. I'm still probably closer than most commercial beer anyway.
This is what I always felt. I used my refractometer to see if fermentation was done. Never really cared if I hit FG or not. Then I got the tilt and it gets close enough.

Hydrometer users too much beer to measure.

At 130.00 I care if it's wrong! Lol But I get where you are coming from.
Mine has been Within 0.001 on OG and FG each time. When I check it of course. The current batch o forgot to get a measurement but the OG was the same as the recipe predicted and the previous time I brewed it.

That's my problem with the Tilt (and others) as well. They are all way too expensive (for me at least) if I can only trust half of what it tells me.

Edit: There is also the Butter Fingers risk as well.

Meh, it's just another toy. I can't say my beer is better because I have one. But (at least to me) it is entertaining. I'd easily lose as much at the craps table.

Sad how little it takes to entertain me. :(
