I just came across these bottles from Glunz Family Winery:

Look at the Bottles!

I obtained seven of the flip-top bottles they use for Sangria and Glogg - they hold about 32oz, seem pretty sturdy and have a non-rubber seal. They are perfect for those of us who keg our beer but would like to take a pint (or two) with us when visiting friends, etc.

Here is another option, 2L Pepsi/Coke bottle
easy to purge with Co2 first
once purged I hit it with the same pressure as the keg
attach a jumper liquid line to both, then crack the lid on the bottle until I get flow.
going to hang out with some buds tonight, I think I will fill one up with my Annabrit Golden/Pale Ale to go!
If I bring my soda stream bottle with mini regulator I can hit it with gas again if I don't pour it in one go

that is very cool! those bottles can handle crazy pressure too.

i bring growlers home regularly.

if you are looking for a really good growler check out "drink tanks" on amazon. i have used a few of them way too often over the years. their dispense system is not great, but the bottles are awesome.

I like! Not overly expensive either!

I kegged the rest of it while I was at it, it was time

I wouldnt bother with the draft system for the growlers but otherwise they have held up really well in pretty heavy rotation. have had to epoxy the handles on after dropping one, but that was on me. i have given them to all of my brewer friends locally...so far none have brought me beer though :,(

The plastic ones from kegland are just so, so inexpensive though, and the tee, super inexpensive, pretty sure morebeer has them in the US...

I they are talking about just taking it somewhere to share. I'll carb something overnight in a plastic bottle, but it gets shared the next day.

I use the same system as @Craigerrr
I keep it up to about a month if it is overflow from kegging.
Not noticed any oxidation, I think that takes longer...
