I have been researching different water filters over the past few days because I want something reliable for clean and safe drinking water at home. I checked reviews on sites like Consumer Reports and the New York Times and these two options are often recommended as the best
Homall everydrop Refrigerator Water Filter EDR1RXD1 (Single Pack).

GE RPWFE Refrigerator Water Filter.

Now I am a little stuck on deciding which one would actually fit my needs better. The Brita seems very convenient since it can just sit in the fridge and is quick to refill, but I am not sure how well it handles impurities beyond just improving the taste. On the other hand, the APEC reverse osmosis system looks like a much more powerful option that can filter water more thoroughly, but it also feels like a bigger investment and might need more effort to set up.
What I really want is a filter that gives me clean, good-tasting water every day, is safe for cooking and drinking, and hopefully saves me from constantly buying bottled water. If anyone here has used either of these, I would really appreciate hearing your experience and which one you think is the smarter long-term choice
