We always post our changelog in our "learn" pages automatically: https://docs.brewersfriend.com/changelog. In case you may have noticed some new features, this list will show you the entire changelog:

2020-08-05

Updated

  • Recipe Builder - Remove the User Contributed ingredient setting. All admin approved ingredients will be available to all users as long as that brand is enabled.

Fixed

  • Recipe View - Fixed hop total and hop summary to use the same unit type as the recipe additions, if different units are used, the majority unit is used.

  • Recipe Builder - Fixed issue where hop addition temperature did not update units when changing recipe units.

  • Recipe Print - Fixed issue where the printed recipe wasn't using the user set currency symbol.

Just a couple small patches to fix some issues, and (finally!) something long overdue making user contributed ingredients a part of the ingredient database available to all users.

Ever wonder, or see another user having issues, with not being able to find an ingredient despite turning on the brand? It's probably because this setting was turned off.

Now, if you contribute a new custom ingredient and submit it to Brewer's Friend, it goes to a page to be reviewed and approved by @Yooper, myself, and the rest of the team. After it is approved for public use, everyone will be able to see and use that ingredient.

Previously, if you turned on Briess fermentables for example, or Omega yeast labs yeast products, you would only see a handful of ingredients and not the entire catalog present in the ingredient database.

Hi! This is great news. i'm a gluten free brewer and am looking forward to contributing some alternate grains for review to the catalog. I will use the PPG, diastatic power, and °L from the supplier's website. Is that what you look for?

Yes, if you fill in the blanks in the 'add custom' that will be what is required.

Hello. Is there any way to get approved quickly, I've been waiting for a long time and haven't seen any approval yet.

I just saw this- I don't get notifications of ingredients- but you still see everything you've added yourself. What the approval is for is for other customers' ingredients, so you can see them. Do you have a link to your ingredients so I can check?
