Palesner Kveik - does anyone know what this is?

Yes I have used this combo before. I kinda like it . I will, however, be using Saaz and / or Hallertau in my next brew. I think the problem is actually the acid level and type. Guilty! I was relying on the BF calculator. I do have a PH meter but the reason I don't usually check is because there...

Palesner Kveik - does anyone know what this is?

Sorry for the delayed update. Something happened at my end which prevented me from posting for 4 weeks. Anyway, here's the update: YUK!!! This is the first time I have brewed a beer that I don't want to drink:confused: There is a flavour to it...

Palesner Kveik - does anyone know what this is?

No worries Trialben. I'll let you know. I have also found this Kveik for sale on a Brazilian web site. It also boasts a clean lager-like fermentation, but there is no mention of it being a single strain. o_O So far this fermentation is a little slower than other kveiks I have used. A 16 hour lag...

Palesner Kveik - does anyone know what this is?

Hi everyone. I recently obtained this 'isolated single strain kveik' from a seller in Holland. According to the seller it is different to most blended kveik strains and produces cleaner, crisper lager-like beers at high temperatures without any off flavours. I have found very little info about...

    G'day from Australia

I am a fan of kveik. I have used it with similar recipes: Opshaug with EKG and Voss with Fuggles.

    Is this the BEST BITTER?

Looks great. I want to give this a try but admiral hops are proving a little difficult to obtain here at the moment. Our state is in lock-down and the brew stores are closed. My go to on-line stores don't stock it. I will probably need to substitute......Suggestions?

    Is this the BEST BITTER?

Thanks J A. The water additions were calculated based on the mean values of our local water supply. The full water chemistry reports do not differ considerably over time. We have fairly soft water overall, so there is no real need for RO water. I am relying on the information on water profiles...

    Is this the BEST BITTER?

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions. This is exactly the type of feedback I was hoping for. JA, thank you for going to the trouble of writing an improved variation of the recipe. I appreciate it and I will definitely brew up a batch of this version within the next few weeks. I'll...

    Is this the BEST BITTER?

This is the first recipe I have posted on Brewers Friend. My cousin who lives in England reckons that Harvey's Best bitter is the best beer he has ever had. I have never tasted it, but I have taken a stab at brewing it. I found the basis of the recipe through my research but tweaked the ABV and...

    G'day from Australia

My brother in-law gave me a basic brew kit for Christmas a couple of years back. Since that first basic extract brew I have evolved my brewing significantly, to partial mash, BIAB and beyond. I wrote my own brew calculator incorporating all but water profiles into the brew recipes and log on a...
