    Beer with rose buds?

Practice with tea. Rose tea (black tea with rose buds, I think) is really good. You could try different strengths to get a feel for how much to use. I've always thought that this would be a good addition to a saison. What type of beer are you making?

    Struggling with hops at altitude

I believe that they are working on this. I've had some off line discussions where the problem was recognized. You have to make the adjustments in the recipe itself for each hop addition.

How are all your hops doing that you're growing?

My hops from last year are between 6 & 8' tall. The new one is about 3' tall. Looks like my hop arbor isn't tall enough... Forgot the picture the first time....

Top 5 things you've done to improve your homebrew experience

My recent efforts all target reducing the effort of brewing. My top improvement are: - Setting up a dedicated brew space. What used to be 20 ish trips between the basement and the garage is now 2 or so trips to the basement. - Switched to electric. No more chasing propane or hoses. - Set up...

What did you get delivered today

A new soon to be fermenter. Unfortunately it was suppose to be 7.5 gallons but it ended up 6.28 gallons. I think it will work. It came with a blanking plate and a plate with a dip tube and pressure port. I got it off of market place. It came, unused, from a closed CBD facility.

    Hops scaling by elevation

I knew the answer but it turns out the program isn't doing what it is supposed to. In the equipment profile the utilization adjustment isn't overriding the elevation adjustment. They are looking into it. The recipe adjustment works in the mean time

    Hops scaling by elevation

Yes but.... On my electric kettle it goes so fast I can't keep up with the other stuff I need to do. So it isn't a big deal relatively.

    Hops scaling by elevation

A buddy of mine that brews at the same elevation (or higher) than me hates hoppy beers, doesn't adjust for elevation, and loves his beer.......

    Hops scaling by elevation

Very discernable. Before I found out about the issue I couldn't make a decent IPA. Not even close. In a discussion, on hops, with a local brew master he asked if I adjusted for elevation. My answer was "WHAT". It turns out that at my elevation I have to add 33% additional hops to account for...

    Struggling with hops at altitude

I have to get back and play with this more. However I changed the utilization to 65% from the altitude adjusted 84%. There was no change to the recipe or IBUs calculated. With 5 different utilizations that can be changed I may not understand the process. But changing the boil utilization or the...

    Struggling with hops at altitude

Ok, I'm going to have to play with this, I cant generate an effect. If the listed elevation correction is accurate (84%) then adjusting the factor to 67% should change the IBU's. No joy, at least not yet. I may be applying it wrong but I'll spend some time with it before I raise a red flag

    Struggling with hops at altitude

That's one of the links I've saved. The issue is how to make the adjustment in brewers friend. Their adjustment shows 84% utilization vs 67% utilization in other programs
