    Water calc won't compute

Strange- I see a mash pH. What browser are you using?

Brewzilla? Anyone have one and can give some advice?

How big of a batch can you make no sparge? I’ve been doing no sparge for a long time (full volume mashes) and I really want to continue.

    TiltPi not updating Brew Session.

I have not seen a recent ticket- however, I think I did send you the documents on how to step-by-step troubleshoot. If you still have questions please let me know. That documentation is here: https://docs.brewersfriend.com/devices/tilt And make sure the settings in the Tilt app are correct.

Water calculations - roasted vs specialty malts

I guess it’s best to explain that some of the ingredients are from our database, but others are added by the users and that makes a huge difference, so I need to look at the specifics. When you link your recipe to the water calc it should auto populate with the correct description and the...

Water calculations - roasted vs specialty malts

Thanks! Do you have the recipe that the calc is linked to, or did you type it in? I wanted to see if the issue is with something in the database,or something with the recipe builder pulling in ‘extra’ ingredients that aren’t in the calculator as well as seeing the prediction before the water...

Brewzilla? Anyone have one and can give some advice?

Thanks!!!!!! Of course that brings up more questions. 1. I don’t have a problem checking mash temps, but how easy is to then calibrate? 2. No way I’ll be allowed to do a pulley or anything like that in the drop ceiling. Or anything that would put weight on anything except a shelf (which...

Brewzilla? Anyone have one and can give some advice?

Ah, thank you. I guess it could be put on a stand(?) so it’s easier to prime the pump but one of the things I’m afraid of is a big mess- I hardly ever make a mess in my current set up, but it’s flippin’ heavy stuff!

Water calculations - roasted vs specialty malts

I don’t believe you are wasting your time here- I’m ready to see the recipe/link/water calculator. But I cannot guess at why it’s not acting like you’d expect if I cannot see it in the recipe, and the linked water calculator. You shouldn’t have to change the type of malt, as it should be in...

Todd, can you tell me more about the pump and how it works for you?

Brewzilla? Anyone have one and can give some advice?

I think so- I was there for a weekend in February. I spent a few days at the ranch, and then went into the business to see James and Josh. We didn’t do a podcast together this time, but still managed to laugh a lot.

Brewzilla? Anyone have one and can give some advice?

Thanks! I can’t do a pulley system in my laundry room- old house with a drop ceiling, and I do have 240v or 120 easily available. I was leaning towards Brewzilla gen 3 because it seems to have what I want…..but a gen 4 with a two-place lift for the grain seems like a good addition. I don’t...

Brewzilla? Anyone have one and can give some advice?

The time has come. I'm about ready to go small, and so 5ish gallon batches from now on. My big system is just too big, too much, too heavy, and I'm ready to downsize. I rarely do larger batches these days and I love the idea of an all-in-one. I saw a Grainfather in action a few years ago...

Water calculations - roasted vs specialty malts

Roasted malts aren't base malts or considered a speciality malt like Munich malt. It shouldn't increase the pH though, but it really depends on the recipe, the water, the lovibond of the malt, etc.

    Community Zoom Happy Hour 2024

For me, the biggest issue isn’t the day of the week unfortunately. It’s just that we stay pretty busy past 5 PM. So no day is any better than an other. I work a couple of days a week at a state park (as a volunteer) so coming home about that time, changing, etc dinner, means I’m just not...

    Community Zoom Happy Hour 2024

I live about 15 miles from any town on an island accessed by a narrow 9 mile winding road out to the Gulf of Mexico, about 25 miles from a restaurant, and further from one I'd actually eat at. .....LOL. There is a takeout pizza place about 45 minutes away though. Nah, we'll stay on island...
